Ejuke Cannot Prevent Sevilla Collapse as Raphinha Hat-Trick Seals Barcelona Win

1 hour ago·1 min

Chidera Ejuke played his part for Sevilla on Saturday, but a devastating hat-trick from Raphinha ensured Barcelona left with a commanding 3-1 victory in La Liga — extending the reigning champions' unbeaten run this season.

Ejuke enters the fray

The Super Eagles midfielder made his sixth appearance of the campaign when he came off the bench in the 59th minute, replacing José Ángel Carmona (Correia). Ejuke injected energy along the flank as Sevilla searched for a way back into the contest, but the deficit proved too great to overturn.

Raphinha takes centre stage

Sevilla had given their supporters reason to celebrate early, taking a surprise lead in the 19th minute that briefly silenced the Barcelona travelling contingent. The joy proved short-lived. Raphinha levelled matters in the 22nd minute, restoring parity for the visitors almost immediately.

The Brazilian forward then picked up where he left off after the interval, striking again in the 52nd minute to put Barcelona ahead. He completed his hat-trick shortly after, effectively ending the contest and putting the result beyond any doubt.

Barcelona hold firm

Despite Sevilla's efforts to mount a late comeback, Barcelona managed the closing stages with confidence, securing all three points and keeping their unbeaten record intact for the season. For Ejuke, the outing offered minutes and match sharpness, even if the result ultimately went against his side.
