England have touched down in the United States as head coach Thomas Tuchel kicks off the squad's preparations for this summer's FIFA World Cup 2026.

Tuchel led a contingent of players out of Birmingham Airport on Monday, flying to West Palm Beach, Florida, for a pre-tournament training camp ahead of what promises to be a sweltering few weeks of football.

A handful of first-team regulars are not yet with the group. Arsenal's Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke, and Eberechi Eze, along with Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson, were all involved in European finals last week and will link up with their teammates at a later stage.

England's first session on American soil is scheduled for Tuesday morning local time, with temperatures in West Palm Beach expected to sit between 28C and 31C — conditions Tuchel will want his players to adapt to quickly.

Warm-up matches and the road to group stage

Before the tournament gets under way, England are set to play two warm-up fixtures: against New Zealand on 6 June and Costa Rica on 10 June. The FIFA World Cup 2026 officially opens on 11 June.

From Florida, the squad will relocate to their tournament base in Kansas City, Missouri — six hours behind the UK. Tuchel had previously encouraged his players to holiday in the US or Caribbean to ease the adjustment to the heat and time difference.

England open their Group L campaign against Croatia on 17 June in Dallas, Texas, before facing Ghana on 23 June in Massachusetts. Their final group fixture is against Panama on 27 June at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, with both US states running five hours behind the UK.

Young faces added to the Florida camp

Tuchel has expanded his group for the Florida camp, calling up young Premier League talents Alex Scott, Rio Ngumoha, Josh King, and Ethan Nwaneri. Uncapped Brighton goalkeeper Jason Steele has also been included in the party.
