Enyimba are set to welcome back two important players ahead of their Euromatch Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday Six fixture against Plateau United on Sunday, with defender Joel Ezra and goalkeeper Utum Godswill both returning to full training and available for selection.
Ezra had been absent from the squad for an extended period due to illness. The versatile defender made 27 appearances for the People's Elephant last season and is now in contention to feature in Sunday's encounter at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.
Godswill, meanwhile, has shaken off an injury that ruled him out for three weeks, and the shot-stopper has returned to the training pitch in time for the weekend fixture.
Building on midweek momentum
Emmanuel Deutsch's side head into the match with growing confidence after a commanding 4-2 home win over Shooting Stars in midweek — a result that handed the club their first NPFL victory of the season.
Despite that win, Enyimba find themselves 19th on the league table, having collected four points from six matches. Sunday's home game against Plateau United represents a timely opportunity for Deutsch's men to climb the standings and establish some early-season momentum.
