Everton and Crystal Palace Complete Brennan Johnson–Dwight McNeil Swap Deal

Everton have secured winger Brennan Johnson from Crystal Palace in a straight swap deal that sends Dwight McNeil in the opposite direction to Selhurst Park, with both players committing to four-year contracts at their respective new clubs.
Johnson had only arrived at Palace in January, when the south London club paid Tottenham £35 million for his services. His stay at Selhurst Park lasted just months before Everton moved to bring him to Merseyside.
The deal carries an added backstory for McNeil. The winger came close to joining Crystal Palace on Deadline Day during the January window, only for that transfer to collapse at the final hurdle after the necessary paperwork was not submitted in time. He now completes the move that nearly happened half a year earlier.
