Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has outlined his side's tactical approach to neutralising Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé when the two clubs meet in Sunday's Clásico.

According to Flick, the key to keeping Mbappé quiet lies not in individual duels but in collective discipline — specifically, Barcelona's positioning and their willingness to press and work hard without the ball.

The German coach's comments reflect a clear awareness of the threat Mbappé poses. The France international has been one of the most dangerous attackers in Europe since his high-profile move to Real Madrid, capable of deciding matches in a single moment.

By emphasising team shape and off-ball effort rather than relying on any one defender to shadow Mbappé, Flick signals that Barcelona intend to make life difficult for the forward through structure rather than individual brilliance.

El Clásico remains the most-watched domestic fixture in world football, and both clubs will arrive at Sunday's encounter knowing that a win could have significant implications for the La Liga title race.
