A local Texas football fan has etched his name into sporting history after becoming the 50 millionth person to pass through the gates of a FIFA World Cup match since the tournament's founding in 1930.
Immi Khan, a Fort Worth resident whose family roots trace back to Pakistan, reached the milestone during Spain's 1-0 round of 16 victory against Portugal at Dallas Stadium. The match drew a capacity crowd of 70,649 — the 93rd fixture of FIFA World Cup 2026.
A giant ticket and two legends
To mark the occasion, FIFA Legends Carles Puyol and Pepe presented Khan with an oversized commemorative ticket. Khan, who was attending his ninth match of the tournament, was visibly moved by the recognition.
