Gakpo Agrees Deal to Join Tottenham Hotspur in Major Summer Move

Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo has agreed a deal in principle to move to Tottenham Hotspur before the summer transfer window closes, according to reports from the Netherlands.

The Dutch international, who arrived at Anfield from PSV in a deal worth up to £45 million four years ago, has scored 50 goals across 180 appearances for Liverpool, contributing to both the Premier League title and the Carabao Cup during his tenure at the club.

Liverpool's asking price and conditions

The BBC reports that Liverpool are seeking a transfer fee exceeding £60 million for Gakpo. However, the Merseyside club have made clear they will not sanction any departure until a suitable replacement has been secured.

In pursuit of reinforcements, Liverpool have held extensive discussions with Paris Saint-Germain over winger Bradley Barcola. Those talks have stalled, with Liverpool unwilling to match the French club's valuation of €150 million (£128 million).

Gakpo one of two key Spurs targets

Gakpo is among Roberto De Zerbi's priority attacking targets this summer, alongside Manchester City winger Savinho. Brazilian reports from Thursday suggest Tottenham Hotspur have submitted an £85 million bid to Manchester City for the 22-year-old.

Savinho, who started just seven Premier League matches last season, has already agreed personal terms with Spurs. His pursuit has taken a further twist, with the winger absent from Manchester City's training session on Thursday — ahead of their Community Shield fixture against Arsenal this Sunday — due to illness.
