Glen Kamara Faces Friday Suspension Risk as Finland Accuse QPR of Early Recall

Queens Park Rangers could be without Glen Kamara for Friday's Championship clash against West Ham United, after the Football Association of Finland alleged that the club recalled the midfielder from international duty without following proper Fifa procedures.
The Finnish FA claims that QPR insisted Kamara, 30, leave the national team camp and return to London ahead of Tuesday's Uefa Nations League fixture against Hungary — a move that head coach Jacob Friis says left his player in an impossible position.
"Glen was in a difficult situation as his club insisted he leave the camp and return to London. He had to make a decision that was obviously not what we wanted," Friis said in a statement published on the federation's website.
Fifa rules at the heart of the dispute
Under Fifa regulations, any player released for international duty must remain available to their national side for the full window. An early return to club football requires the explicit agreement of the relevant national association — a step Finland say was not taken.
The rules also specify that a player recalled without that agreement cannot feature for their club until five days after the international window closes. Friday's match against West Ham falls just three days after the window ends, putting Kamara's involvement in serious jeopardy.
Marco Casagrande, general secretary of the Finnish FA, was unequivocal when speaking to the Helsingin Sanomat newspaper.
"The regulations are very clear, and in our view, they were not fully followed in this case. Fifa will definitely be informed. The player has not been available for the entire international window, as the regulations say he should be. After that, it's up to Fifa how they proceed with the matter," Casagrande said.
Kamara's season at QPR
The Finland international has been a regular presence in the QPR squad this season, starting three of their eight Championship fixtures and coming off the bench in four more. Rangers currently sit sixth in the table.
During the international window, Kamara did not feature in Finland's opening Nations League game against San Marino, came off at half-time in their second match against Belarus, and was introduced as a second-half substitute against Albania on Saturday before the early recall.
The Finnish FA told BBC Sport its focus had shifted to Tuesday's Nations League encounter with Hungary. QPR have been approached for comment but had not responded at the time of publication.
