Erling Haaland has etched his name into Premier League history, becoming only the second player ever to score against every single opponent he has faced in the competition.

The Manchester City striker reached the landmark with a second-half goal in City's emphatic 5-3 victory over Sunderland, meaning the Norwegian has now found the net against all 25 clubs he has encountered. Should he score against Hull City this season, that tally would extend to 26.

The only other player to have achieved this feat — scoring against every club faced with a minimum of two opponents — is England captain Harry Kane, who managed to net against all 32 clubs he played against during his Premier League career.

Lampard leads all-time list

Despite their remarkable achievement, neither Haaland nor Kane features in the top 10 for the highest number of different Premier League opponents scored against. That record belongs to Coventry City manager Frank Lampard, whose 178 Premier League goals between 1997 and 2015 came against 39 distinct opponents — a tally no one has matched.

Former Manchester United striker Andrew Cole sits second on the list with goals against 38 different clubs, while Premier League icons Alan Shearer and Jermain Defoe each scored against 37 different teams.

Wayne Rooney and Teddy Sheringham occupy fifth and sixth place with goals against 36 and 35 different opponents respectively.

Rounding out the all-time top 11 are Thierry Henry, Michael Owen, Paul Scholes, Steven Gerrard, and Ryan Giggs — each having scored against 34 different Premier League clubs.
