Hamburg head coach Merlin Polzin has urged patience over Terem Moffi's knee injury, casting doubt over the Nigerian striker's availability for his side's upcoming Bundesliga fixture against TSG Hoffenheim.

Moffi picked up the knee problem during Hamburg's most recent league outing against FC Cologne, a match in which he was withdrawn at half-time and replaced by Yussuf Poulsen. The 27-year-old has not featured since.

Polzin admitted the knee's reaction had surprised him and that the club would continue assessing Moffi's condition throughout the week before making any decision on his return to the squad.
