Harry Kane is poised to sign a contract extension at Bayern Munich, with Barcelona's reported interest unlikely to alter his plans, according to sources cited by Sky Sports News.
The LaLiga club are said to be investigating how they might finance a move for the 32-year-old striker, who has just one year remaining on his current deal. However, it is understood that Kane and his family are settled and content in Munich, and both he and the club are relaxed about the contract situation.
Kane's focus is entirely on the FIFA World Cup with England, and those close to him indicate that any decisions about his future will wait until after the tournament concludes.
A historic season for Kane
The numbers behind Barcelona's interest are difficult to argue with. Kane contributed 61 club goals and seven assists in 51 appearances during the 2025/26 season — a tally that no player had matched in all competitions since Cristiano Ronaldo achieved the feat for Real Madrid in 2014/15.
Including international duty, Kane reached 70 goals for club and country this season. He also claimed the European Golden Shoe as the top scorer across Europe's top five leagues — his second such award, a distinction shared by only a handful of players. Lionel Messi holds the record with six, while Ronaldo has four.
On the trophy front, Kane lifted three honours this season: the German Super Cup, the Bundesliga, and the DFB Pokal.
Exceptional World Cup form
At the FIFA World Cup, Kane has scored in each of England's three Group L matches, registering three goals to surpass Gary Lineker as England's all-time leading scorer in World Cup competitions. His latest strike doubled England's advantage against Panama in the group stage, pushing his overall tally for club and country to 70 for the season.
Across all competitions, Kane has scored 146 goals in 147 appearances for Bayern Munich — a rate Sky Sports News' Rob Dorsett described as
