Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan has launched a fierce attack on the match officials after his side's stunning elimination from the FIFA World Cup 2026, following a 3-2 defeat to Argentina.
The Pharaohs had appeared set to produce one of the tournament's greatest upsets, racing into a 2-0 lead against the defending champions with only 11 minutes remaining. Argentina, however, mounted a breathtaking comeback, scoring three goals without reply to snatch victory and send Egypt home.
Hassan questions the officiating
In his post-match comments, Hassan insisted Egypt had done enough to win and pointed squarely at refereeing decisions as the reason his side fell short.
