Jordan Henderson has declared that his international ambitions remain very much alive, insisting he can still perform at the highest level despite turning 36 and that representing England continues to be one of his greatest priorities.

The veteran midfielder has wasted no time silencing critics since joining Chelsea, most notably scoring a brace against Bournemouth earlier this month — a display that included a superb free-kick.

With England manager Thomas Tuchel monitoring players' form ahead of upcoming international tournaments, Henderson believes consistent performances at club level give him every right to stay in the conversation.
