Former England striker Emile Heskey believes a loan spell at Celtic or Rangers could accelerate the development of Arsenal teenager Max Dowman, according to reports in Scotland.

Heskey, who played for Liverpool and Leicester City during his club career, suggested the intensity of the Old Firm environment would benefit the rising Arsenal prospect. The ex-England international also disclosed that Celtic came close to signing him during Martin O'Neill's first spell in charge at Parkhead.

Iheanacho continues fine form

Kelechi Iheanacho carried his strong club form onto the international stage, netting for Nigeria in a friendly draw against Russia. The striker has been in remarkable shape since leaving Celtic, contributing 11 goals in eight appearances for Bursaspor.

Oh Hyeon-gyu attracting interest

Tottenham Hotspur and Hull City are reportedly monitoring former Celtic striker Oh Hyeon-gyu, who is currently at Besiktas. However, the Turkish club are not willing to part with the South Korean without receiving what has been described as a "very astronomical offer."

St Johnstone manager Simo Valakari has challenged forward Taylor Steven to push beyond the Scotland Under-21 setup and earn a senior international call-up. Meanwhile, Aberdeen midfielder Connor Ronan has expressed confidence that captain Kevin Nisbet will surpass 20 goals before the season concludes.
