Iheanacho Signs Three-Year Deal with Turkish Club Bursaspor
Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho has completed a move to Turkish club Bursaspor, signing a three-year contract with the side newly promoted to the Trendyol 1. Lig, Turkey's second division.
End of the Celtic chapter
Iheanacho arrives at Bursaspor after his time at Scottish champions Celtic came to a close, with the two parties unable to agree terms on a new deal. During his spell at the Glasgow club, the Nigeria international contributed meaningfully to a domestic double in the 2025/26 season.
In the closing weeks of the Scottish Premiership campaign, Iheanacho found the net against Dundee, Hibernian, and Motherwell. He also struck in Celtic's Scottish Cup final victory over Dunfermline, capping a productive stint with the Hoops.
Across all competitions for Martin O'Neill's side, the former Leicester City forward finished with nine goals and one assist from 24 appearances.
A historic club with big ambitions
Bursaspor are one of Turkey's most storied clubs, famously claiming the Turkish Super Lig title in the 2009/10 season — an achievement that broke the stranglehold of the country's traditional powerhouses. They have also won the Turkish Cup once.
Based in the northwestern city of Bursa, the club sealed promotion to the Trendyol 1. Lig last season and will be counting on Iheanacho's experience and eye for goal to fuel their push for a return to the top flight.
