Inter Milan Eye Spence and Romero as Transfer Window Heats Up

Inter Milan are pushing to secure deals for two big defensive targets this summer — Tottenham Hotspur right-back Djed Spence, 25, and Tottenham centre-back Cristian Romero, 28. According to Corriere dello Sport, the Italian giants are working to bring both players to San Siro.

Liverpool lead the chase for Sano

Liverpool have moved to the front of the queue for Kaishu Sano, the 25-year-old Japan international midfielder currently at Mainz. Teamtalk reports that Liverpool are prepared to spend up to 60 million euros (£50.9 million) to land Sano, who has also drawn interest from Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool are also casting their eyes towards Bournemouth, where they have made inquiries about Brazilian winger Rayan, 19. The club are said to be keen to reunite the youngster with former head coach Andoni Iraola, who managed Rayan at Bournemouth.

Arsenal track Konsa

Arsenal have registered interest in Aston Villa and England defender Ezri Konsa, 28, according to The Guardian. The Gunners appear to be exploring reinforcements at the back as they look to build on last season's campaign.

African players in the spotlight

There is plenty of movement involving African talent across the English leagues. Fulham have joined Coventry and Chelsea in monitoring Strasbourg and Ivory Coast winger Martial Godo, 23, according to Africafoot. Newcastle United are in discussions with Brighton & Hove Albion over goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, 25, and have also held talks regarding Manchester City's James Trafford, 23, according to the Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace may lose goalkeeper Walter Benitez, 33, with the Argentina international potentially terminating his contract at Selhurst Park to engineer a return to Nice, as reported by Nice-Matin. Crystal Palace are separately exploring Augsburg centre-back Chrislain Matsima, 24, as one of several defensive options, according to The Standard.

Leeds United continue to chase Parma's Japan goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, 23, despite the Serie A club's reluctance to sell, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
