Alexander Isak's decisive strike handed Liverpool a narrow 1-0 victory away at Bournemouth on Sunday, as manager Andoni Iraola savoured a winning return to the Vitality Stadium against the club he formerly led.

The match was a hard-fought affair, settled shortly after the hour mark when Isak met Cody Gakpo's delivery — deflected slightly by Florian Wirtz — to fire Liverpool in front and ultimately clinch the three points.

A laboured display from the visitors

Liverpool were far from convincing for long stretches of the contest. Sky Sports co-commentator Jamie Carragher was pointed in his assessment of their first-half showing.
