ITV Confirms Broadcast Team for Jordan vs Algeria at World Cup 2026

ITV has announced its full presenting, punditry, and commentary lineup for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Group J clash between Jordan and Algeria, scheduled for 4am BST on Tuesday, June 23.
Semra Hunter will present coverage from the studio. The California native is well known to fans of Spanish football, having previously worked as an anchor on Real Madrid TV. She will be joined at the desk by Karen Carney and Jobi McAnuff.
Pundits with pedigree
Carney is a former England international who earned more than 100 caps and helped the Lionesses claim third place at the 2015 World Cup. She has established herself as one of ITV's most recognisable football voices in recent years.
McAnuff brings a wealth of EFL experience to the panel. The former Jamaica international — who won 32 caps for his country — is perhaps best remembered for captaining Reading to the Championship title in 2012. He has since built a reputation as a sharp analyst across the BBC, ITV, and Sky Sports.
Commentary booth
Joe Speight and Lucy Ward will share commentary duties. The pair previously called Belgium's 0-0 draw with Iran in Group G, and Speight is a familiar voice on Premier League Productions and NBC beyond the tournament.
Ward, a former Leeds United striker, was named TV/Radio Pundit of the Year at the 2025 Football Supporters' Association Awards — recognition that underlines her growing standing in the broadcast world.
What is at stake
Both sides arrive in desperate need of points. Jordan — making their World Cup debut — fell to a 3-1 defeat against Austria in their opening match, though Ali Olwan's equaliser briefly gave them hope. Algeria suffered a heavier blow, conceding three goals to Lionel Messi as Argentina triumphed 3-0.
A second defeat for either team would leave their knockout-stage hopes in serious jeopardy, with the group's final round of fixtures offering little comfort — Jordan still have to face a Messi-inspired Argentina.
