Iwobi Chases Kolo Touré's African Premier League Appearance Record

Alex Iwobi is setting his sights on history. The Nigeria international is now the second-most capped African player in Premier League history and is targeting the all-time record held by former Ivory Coast defender Kolo Touré.
Iwobi moved into second place on the all-time list after playing in Fulham's 1-1 draw against Aston Villa at Villa Park last Saturday, taking his total to 329 Premier League appearances across three clubs.
A journey through three clubs
The 30-year-old midfielder built his tally at Arsenal, where he made 100 appearances, before adding 123 more at Everton. Since joining Fulham, he has featured 106 times for the London club.
His latest milestone moves him past Mohamed Salah, the former Liverpool forward with whom he had previously been level on the all-time African appearances list.
Iwobi sets his sights on Touré's mark
Touré's record of 352 Premier League appearances remains the target. Speaking on Fulham's official channel, FFC TV, Iwobi acknowledged the achievement while making clear his ambitions stretch further.
