Nigeria midfielder Joe Aribo has left Southampton after his contract expired, bringing a four-year chapter at St Mary's Stadium to a close.
Aribo joined the Saints in 2022 from Scottish Premiership side Rangers and went on to make 111 appearances in all competitions during his time on the South Coast.
A productive but difficult spell
Across 95 league outings, Aribo scored nine goals for Southampton — including four in the 2023/24 season, when he played 40 times as the club secured promotion back to the top flight.
The final stretch of his Southampton career proved difficult. The 29-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Leicester City, where he made six appearances and started just once.
Club pays tribute
Southampton confirmed Aribo's exit on their official website, naming him among a group of players leaving when their deals expired.
