Kano Pillars Kick Off Pre-Season Preparations Ahead of 2026/27 NPFL Campaign

1 hour ago·1 min

Kano Pillars have begun their pre-season preparations for the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League campaign, with the squad taking to the pitch at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, on Monday morning.

The opening training session was overseen by the club's technical crew, led by Ahmed Garba Yaro Yaro and supported by Gambo Muhammad and goalkeepers' trainer Suleiman Shuaibu, ahead of the imminent arrival of the newly appointed technical adviser.

Daniel Ogunmodede, who signed a two-year contract with the four-time NPFL champions last week following his departure from Remo Stars, is expected to link up with the squad in Kano this week.

The timing of the camp opening carries added weight after a turbulent previous season in which Kano Pillars — commonly known as the Sai Masu Gida — came close to relegation before ultimately retaining their top-flight status.

With that difficult chapter now behind them, the club have set their sights on a title challenge and a place in continental competition by the close of the 2026/27 season.
