Enyimba chairman Kanu Nwankwo has sent a heartfelt plea to the club's supporters, urging them to stand firm behind the team as the nine-time Nigerian champions endure a torrid beginning to the Euromatch NPFL season.

The People's Elephant suffered a third consecutive league defeat on Sunday — a 1-0 loss to promoted side Inter Lagos at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba — leaving them rooted to the foot of the table. Enyimba only avoided relegation on the final day of last season, making the current slump all the more alarming.
