Barcelona have completed the signing of Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund, with the German winger committing to a five-year contract that runs until 2031. The Spanish La Liga champions announced the deal on Thursday via an official statement on the club's website.

Born in Munich on 18 January 2002 to a Nigerian father and a Romanian mother, Adeyemi brings a dynamic and versatile attacking option to the Barça squad. He is capable of operating on either flank or as a centre-forward, combining blistering pace with a powerful left foot.

A reunion with Hansi Flick

The transfer marks a reunion between Adeyemi and Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick. It was Flick who handed Adeyemi his senior international debut for Germany while the forward was at Red Bull Salzburg — his first professional club after coming through the youth academies of Forstenried, Bayern Munich, and SpVgg Unterhaching.

Adeyemi subsequently spent four seasons at Borussia Dortmund, making his mark in both the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League. Across his Champions League career, he has accumulated 48 appearances — 37 with Borussia Dortmund and 11 with Salzburg — including two outings directly against Barcelona in last season's competition.

Eager to prove himself at Camp Nou

Barcelona's official statement described Adeyemi as arriving at the club eager to prove himself and fully committed to contributing to the team's ambitions. Although he featured in Germany's World Cup qualifying campaign, he did not make the final tournament squad.

With a full pre-season ahead of him and the chance to work again under the coach who gave him his international debut, Adeyemi is now officially a Blaugrana.
