Katsina United have confirmed the death of their newly signed player Chinedu Ozoh, who collapsed during a pre-season friendly against Niger Tornadoes at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina on Tuesday.

Ozoh, who had recently joined Katsina United from fellow Nigeria Premier Football League side Kano Pillars, suffered a medical emergency mid-match and was rushed to a specialist hospital, where he later died.

The club, known as the Ikon Allah Boys, announced the loss on their official X account, expressing grief and extending their sympathies to Ozoh's family.
