Coventry City head coach Frank Lampard has expressed pride in his side's performance despite suffering a 3-1 defeat away to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Lampard acknowledged the result was disappointing but insisted the manner in which his players competed at Spurs gave him confidence in the direction the club is heading.

The loss came against a Tottenham Hotspur side that has endured a difficult period in the Premier League this season, making the defeat all the more frustrating for Coventry City.

Despite the scoreline, Lampard was keen to highlight the positives from his squad's display, suggesting that the effort and attitude shown on the day were in line with what he demands from his players.
