Laura Woods Leads ITV's Star-Studded Panel for Uruguay vs Spain at World Cup 2026

ITV's coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Group H finale — Uruguay against Spain at Estadio Akron in Guadalajara — promises to be one of the broadcaster's most compelling broadcasts of the tournament, with a standout studio panel assembled in Brooklyn, New York.
Presenter Laura Woods will front the show, with coverage getting under way at 12:15am ahead of a 1:00am kick-off. The match will air live and free-to-air on ITV1, with a simultaneous stream available on ITVX.
A panel built for the occasion
Woods will be joined by three analysts whose backgrounds span continents and trophies. Gary Neville, a familiar face on ITV's World Cup coverage, returns alongside former Spain midfielder Juan Mata and ex-Celtic and Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou.
Mata brings unparalleled insight into Spanish football. He was part of the Spain squad that lifted the World Cup in 2010 and followed it up with the European Championship two years later. In the Euro 2012 final against Italy in Kyiv, Mata scored the fourth and final goal in a commanding 4-0 victory.
Postecoglou adds a global perspective to proceedings, having managed in Australia, Japan, Scotland, and England. His most recent role was as head coach of Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
Neville, never reluctant to share a strong opinion, rounds out a panel that may be one of the most well-rounded and engaging selections ITV have put together throughout this World Cup.
What's at stake in Guadalajara
Spain enter the match as group leaders, holding a two-point cushion over Uruguay. A draw will be enough for Spain to finish top of Group H and almost certainly secure first place. However, a Uruguay win — under manager Marcelo Bielsa — would see Bielsa's side leapfrog Spain and claim the top spot.
The bottom two sides in Group H meet simultaneously in Houston, meaning the picture across the group will become clear all at once when the final whistles blow.
