Liverpool are among three Premier League clubs tracking Marcos Llorente, the Atletico Madrid midfielder and right-back who has made a habit of tormenting the Reds in the UEFA Champions League.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea are all assessing moves for Llorente as he enters the final months of his contract at Atletico Madrid. Beyond England, La Liga champions Barcelona and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are also keeping a close eye on the 31-year-old.

A history of haunting Anfield

Llorente has developed a remarkable record against Liverpool. Of his ten career UEFA Champions League goals, five have come against the Reds — four of them at Anfield. His most recent strike arrived in the 17th minute of the clubs' league phase meeting in early September, giving Atletico Madrid a 1-0 lead. The previous season, he scored twice in a 3-2 defeat at Anfield.

Versatility drives Premier League interest

Llorente's ability to operate effectively in central midfield and at right-back makes him particularly attractive to Liverpool and Chelsea, both of whom are weighing options across those areas of the pitch. Llorente joined Atletico Madrid from Real Madrid in 2019 for a fee of €30 million.
