Lookman Praises Atletico Madrid's Resolve After Ten-Man Draw in Stuttgart

2 hours ago·1 min

Ademola Lookman has credited Atletico Madrid with exceptional fighting spirit after the club held on for a 1-1 draw against VfB Stuttgart in their UEFA Champions League Matchday Three fixture at the MHPArena on Tuesday.

Jamie Leweling broke the deadlock for the hosts in the 36th minute with a composed finish, but Atletico hit back quickly after the restart. Lookman, introduced at half-time, provided the assist for Julian Alvarez to level matters just three minutes into the second half.

Ten men, one point

The evening grew considerably harder for Atletico when Morten Hjulmand received a red card 25 minutes from time for a reckless challenge on Angelo Stiller. Diego Simeone's side were reduced to ten men and faced a stern examination of their defensive discipline in the closing stages.

They passed that test, holding out to claim a point on the road — a result Lookman described as a reflection of collective resolve.
