Tottenham Hotspur ended their wait for a first Premier League victory of the season with a commanding 3-1 home triumph over Coventry City on Monday, lifted off the foot of the table in the process.

James Maddison set the tone with a superb opener in the 14th minute, giving Spurs the platform they needed to build a convincing win at home.

The result moves Tottenham Hotspur off the bottom of the Premier League standings, offering the club and their supporters a long-awaited boost as they look to find consistency in the early weeks of the campaign.
