Mamadou Diallo, a former Senegal international and celebrated CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations-winning coach, has been confirmed as Draw Assistant for the CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations Senegal 2026 Qualifiers Draw, taking place today in Cairo.

The draw is scheduled for 14h00 Cairo time (11h00 GMT) and will be broadcast live on CAF TV. It will determine the seven nations that join host nation Senegal at the tournament, with 16 countries taking part in the qualifying draw.

A decorated career on and off the sand

Diallo forged an impressive playing career as a forward, competing professionally in the United States and South Africa. He also represented Senegal at the 1994 CAF Africa Cup of Nations, before later lining up for the national beach soccer team at the 2007 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa, where Senegal finished as runners-up to Nigeria.

After retiring from playing, Diallo transitioned into coaching. He was part of the Senegal technical staff that claimed the CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations title in 2018, before stepping up as head coach and leading Senegal to continental glory in 2022 — his first title as the man in charge.

Senegal are the most decorated nation in the competition's history. Their triumph at the 2024 edition crowned them five-time CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations champions, a record no other country can match.

Sixteen nations in contention

The following 16 nations will feature in the qualifying draw: Angola, Burundi, Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Libya, Malawi, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Seychelles, Tanzania, and Uganda.
