Manchester City have reached an agreement to sign Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez for £125 million, a fee that equals the joint-British transfer record.

The deal marks a major statement of intent from City, who are prepared to spend at the very top of the market to strengthen their squad.

Fernandez joined Chelsea in January 2023 for a then-British record fee, and his move to the Etihad Stadium would see him become one of the most expensive players ever bought by an English club.
