Manchester City have secured the services of Argentina international goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli, signing the 34-year-old from Marseille on a two-year deal reported to be worth £1.7m.

Rulli's arrival marks an unexpected return to the Etihad Stadium — the goalkeeper spent the 2016-17 season at the club but never made a first-team appearance. This time, he steps in as backup to first-choice custodian Gianluigi Donnarumma, filling the void left by James Trafford, who departed for Leeds in a deal worth up to £45m.
