Manchester United have set their sights on Como attacking midfielder Nico Paz, according to reports, with the Red Devils said to be tracking the Argentine ahead of the upcoming transfer window. Chelsea are also understood to be interested in the player.

The interest from Old Trafford arrives with no small measure of irony — Paz was instrumental in Como's defeat of Manchester United in pre-season, producing a performance that reportedly caught the attention of the club's hierarchy.

Paz, who is on loan from Real Madrid at Como, has impressed throughout his time in Serie A, establishing himself as one of the more exciting young talents in Italian football this season.

Chelsea's reported pursuit of the midfielder adds another dimension to what could become a competitive race for his signature. Both clubs are expected to assess their attacking options during the summer window, and Paz appears to have moved firmly onto their respective shortlists.

No formal offers have been reported at this stage, and it remains to be seen whether either club will move beyond the monitoring phase as the transfer window approaches.
