Six players across five Premier League clubs opted not to take the knee this weekend during the opening round of October's No Room For Racism fixtures — among them Marc Guehi of Manchester City, who used the occasion to call for the anti-racism campaign to evolve.
The others who remained standing were Tyler Adams and Rayan of Bournemouth, Dominic Calvert-Lewin of Leeds, Issa Diop of Ipswich, and Ainsley Maitland-Niles of Everton.
Guehi's call for progress
Speaking ahead of Manchester City's Champions League fixture on Tuesday, Guehi — an England international — said he had stopped kneeling some time ago but continues to show support in other ways.
