Marseille Open to Selling or Loaning Out Nnadi in January

Olympique Marseille are considering parting ways with Nigerian midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi when the January transfer window opens, with the club open to either a permanent sale or a loan move.
Nnadi arrived at Marseille from Belgian Pro League side Zulte Waregem in January 2025 and went on to make eight appearances in the second half of last season. However, the 23-year-old defensive midfielder has struggled to cement a place in the starting lineup this campaign and is not regarded as a key figure in the club's plans.
According to Get French Football News, Marseille are prepared to sanction a January departure — whether through an outright sale or a temporary loan — as the club looks to manage its squad and reduce its wage burden.
Financial pressure adds urgency
Marseille's situation is further complicated by scrutiny from the DNCG, French football's financial regulatory body, after the club failed to meet the required financial standards in June. That pressure makes trimming the squad in January a practical as well as a sporting consideration.
For Nnadi, a move away from Marseille could prove a vital opportunity. Regular playing time has been hard to come by this season, and consistent club football would strengthen his case for international recognition with Nigeria.
