McTominay Travels Separately to Boston After Illness Scare

Scott McTominay travelled separately to Boston alongside a doctor after missing Scotland's training session on Thursday due to an upset stomach, in what is understood to be a precautionary measure ahead of their FIFA World Cup 2026 opener.
The Napoli midfielder is one of Scotland's most important players heading into the tournament, and manager Steve Clarke is expected to provide an update on his condition when he faces the media on Friday at 1700.
Scotland's opening match
Clarke's side begin their first World Cup campaign in 28 years on Saturday — kicking off at 0200 BST on Sunday — against Haiti at Boston Stadium in Foxborough. Scotland are also drawn alongside Morocco and Brazil in their group.
McTominay, who has scored 15 goals in 70 caps for Scotland, was in fine form during the buildup, netting in the convincing 4-0 victory over Bolivia last Saturday.
