Morocco Face Haiti With Round of 32 Place in Sight at World Cup 2026

1 hour ago·2 min

Morocco enter their final Group C fixture at the FIFA World Cup 2026 knowing a win against already-eliminated Haiti will seal their place in the round of 32. The Atlas Lions, carrying four points into the match in Atlanta, are strong favourites to advance — and to potentially top the group if results go their way elsewhere.

Saibari the man in form

Ismael Saibari, bound for Bayern Munich after a standout stint at PSV, has been the standout performer for Morocco so far, netting both of their goals in Group C. His second — a strike after just 71 seconds against Scotland in Boston — was among the tournament's most electric moments. Coach Mohamed Ouahbi will be keen to build on that momentum, and with Haiti's defensive resolve already broken by a 3-0 defeat to Brazil, several Morocco players will be eager to add their names to the scoresheet.

Haiti playing for pride

Haiti have been eliminated without scoring a goal in either of their two group-stage matches. Netting their first World Cup goal in more than half a century would offer a degree of consolation, but the Grenadiers are bound to finish bottom of Group C regardless — the head-to-head tiebreaker rules out any other outcome.

Morocco's bigger picture

The Atlas Lions held Brazil to a draw in their opening fixture before defeating Scotland, a run that reflects how far Moroccan football has come in recent years. With increased investment in the game and a growing reputation for the federation within CAF — as well as the country's status as a future World Cup host — expectations are rising at every major tournament.

Reaching the semi-finals at successive tournaments, or going further still, is now the realistic ambition. Finishing above Brazil in Group C would represent a meaningful statement of intent heading into the knockout rounds.

FourFourTwo predicts a comfortable Morocco victory: Morocco 4-0 Haiti.
