Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouahbi has praised his side's resilience after the Atlas Lions defeated Canada 3-0 in Houston to secure a quarter-final berth at the FIFA World Cup 2026 — repeating the feat they achieved four years ago.
Ouahbi reflects on difficult first half
Canada controlled much of the opening 45 minutes and gave Morocco a stern examination, but the Atlas Lions turned the match decisively in the second half. Azzedine Ounahi scored twice, and Soufiane Rahimi added a late third to complete the convincing victory.
Ouahbi acknowledged that his players had to dig deep before finding their rhythm.
