Moses Simon came off the bench to play a part as Paris FC survived a dramatic late comeback from Rennes to claim a 4-3 victory at the Stade Jean Bouin on Sunday, lifting the club level with Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain on 14 points.

The Nigeria winger was introduced in the 79th minute, with Paris FC clinging to a narrow lead, as manager sought fresh legs to help see out the contest.

A thriller from start to finish

Paris FC appeared to be cruising when Maxime Lopez struck twice to put his side 2-1 ahead at the break — his first arriving in the 14th minute and his second deep into first-half stoppage time at 45+4'.

Rennes, however, refused to capitulate. Esteban Lepaul proved a menace from 12 yards, converting three penalties — in the 29th, 74th, and 88th minutes — to complete a hat-trick entirely from the spot and keep the visitors firmly in contention.

The contest looked destined for a tense finish, but Lassine Sinayoko emerged as the decisive figure for Paris FC. He struck in the 76th minute to restore the hosts' advantage and then held his nerve to convert a penalty deep into stoppage time — 90+7' — sealing a breathless victory and sparking wild celebrations at the Stade Jean Bouin.

PSG still setting the pace

Despite rotating heavily and resting several key players, Paris Saint-Germain had already secured their place at the top on Saturday with a 3-1 win over Strasbourg. Paris FC's triumph means the two clubs are now locked together on 14 points at the Ligue 1 summit, setting up a compelling early-season title conversation.
