Manuel Neuer has confirmed that the FIFA World Cup 2026 will mark the end of his international career, stating clearly that he has no intention of returning for Euro 2028 or any future tournament with Germany.
The 40-year-old goalkeeper, who won the World Cup with Germany in 2014, came out of international retirement to feature in this tournament after stepping away following Germany's quarter-final exit at Euro 2024 on home soil. He is now appearing in his fifth consecutive World Cup as Germany's starting keeper.
