No Current Manchester City Player Was Signed During the Charges Period

Not a single player in Manchester City's current squad was recruited during the period for which an independent commission found the club guilty of breaching the Premier League's financial regulations.
The offences in question span the years 2009 to 2018. Manchester City have denied all wrongdoing and lodged appeals against every charge brought against them.
The club's longest-serving signings
The senior player who has been at the club the longest — having been purchased from another club — is Portuguese centre-back and club captain Ruben Dias, who arrived from Benfica in 2020.
Erling Haaland is the next in line, the Norway striker having joined from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022.
Academy products who bridge the gap
Midfielder Phil Foden is the one player who featured for Manchester City during the period covered by the charges, though he does not count as a senior signing — he came through the club's own youth system rather than being purchased from outside.
Foden, 26, made his first-team debut in a Champions League fixture against Feyenoord in November 2017.
Rico Lewis, a versatile midfielder like Foden, also emerged from the club's academy and did not make his senior debut until August 2022, well after the charges period had ended.
The rest of the squad
Every other senior player currently on Manchester City's books was signed between 2023 and 2026, placing their arrivals entirely outside the window under scrutiny by the independent commission.
