Nottingham Forest are on the verge of signing Crystal Palace right-back Daniel Munoz in a deal that could reach £25m, with talks between the two clubs understood to have reached an advanced stage.

The Colombia international has become a priority target for Forest head coach Oliver Glasner, who managed Munoz during his tenure at Selhurst Park. Negotiations have been underway for several days and gained significant momentum following Crystal Palace's 4-1 defeat to Manchester City on Friday.

Sources indicate the two clubs are now close to an agreement, with Tuesday's summer transfer deadline providing added urgency to proceedings.

Munoz's impact at Palace

Munoz arrived at Crystal Palace from Belgian club Genk in 2024 and quickly became one of the Eagles' most dependable performers. He played a central role in the club's historic double triumph — the FA Cup and the Europa Conference League — during Glasner's spell in charge at Selhurst Park.

At 30 years old, Munoz has fewer than two years remaining on his current contract, and Crystal Palace are understood to be open to cashing in on him this summer rather than risk losing him on a reduced fee or for nothing.

Khalaili set to fill the void

Crystal Palace have already moved to address the anticipated departure. The club signed Anan Khalaili from Belgian outfit Royale Union Saint-Gilloise earlier this summer, and the Israel international is expected to slot into Pierre Sage's starting lineup in Munoz's place.

Should the deal be finalised before Tuesday's deadline, Munoz would reunite with Glasner at Nottingham Forest, linking up once more with the manager who helped him reach new heights at Crystal Palace.
