O'Reilly Embraces Once-in-a-Lifetime Shot at Facing Messi in World Cup Semi-Final

3 hours ago·1 min

England left-back Nico O'Reilly says facing Lionel Messi in Wednesday's World Cup semi-final represents a moment he may never see again in his football career.

England secured their place in the final four after a gruelling 2-1 victory over Norway in the Miami heat on Saturday. They now travel to Atlanta to meet defending world champions Argentina, who dispatched Switzerland 3-1 in their quarter-final.

At 39, Messi has never previously faced England, and Wednesday's contest could be the first and last time the two sides meet with him on the pitch. O'Reilly, who plays his club football for Manchester City, has also never come up against him at that level.
