Obaje Sets Sights on CAF Champions League Glory After Reaching 101 NPFL Goals
Rangers International striker Godwin Obaje has revealed that winning the CAF Champions League with the Flying Antelopes is his primary ambition before he hangs up his boots, following a milestone moment that saw him surpass 100 goals in the Nigerian Premier Football League.
A century and beyond
Obaje reached the landmark in a rescheduled Matchday 2 fixture, scoring the only goal as Rangers beat Warri Wolves 1-0 away in Ozoro, Delta State. By the time Rangers faced Abia Warriors on Matchday 7 of the 2026/2027 Euromatch–NPFL season at the Awka City Stadium in Awka, Anambra State, his tally had already moved to 101 — the latest coming from a 37th-minute strike against his former club.
The nine-time Nigerian champions marked the occasion by presenting Obaje with a plaque during the Abia Warriors fixture, a gesture that clearly moved the striker.
