Tottenham are in advanced talks to sign Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush, with no agreement yet reached but negotiations continuing. The move would form part of a summer spending spree that looks set to surpass £300 million, after the north London club already committed £229.5m to centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke and midfielders Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes. A separate £75m deal to bring winger Savinho from City was confirmed on Friday.
Omar Marmoush to Tottenham: What the Egypt Forward Would Bring to Spurs

Tottenham are in advanced talks to sign Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush, with no agreement yet reached but negotiations continuing. The move would form part of a summer spending spree that looks set to surpass £300 million, after the north London club already committed £229.5m to centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke and midfielders Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes. A separate £75m deal to bring winger Savinho from City was confirmed on Friday.
From Frankfurt sensation to City understudy
Marmoush arrived at Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer from Wolfsburg in May 2023, and the then 24-year-old wasted little time making an impression — scoring 17 goals across all competitions in his debut season. The following campaign was even more emphatic: 15 Bundesliga goals from just 8.9 expected goals (xG), combined with nine assists in 17 league outings. In total before departing Germany, he registered 20 goals and 13 assists in 26 games.
His set-piece delivery was equally striking. Marmoush became the first player in Europe's top five leagues since Lionel Messi in 2019 to score directly from a free-kick in three successive competitive matches. That form convinced Manchester City to pay £59m for him in January 2025.
His early months in sky blue were promising. He scored his first career hat-trick against Newcastle, netted the winner in City's FA Cup quarter-final at Bournemouth, and then produced a long-range strike against the same opponents in the Premier League that was named goal of the season. Yet the campaign also brought a painful low point — his penalty was saved by Dean Henderson as City fell to Crystal Palace in the 2025 FA Cup final at Wembley.
