Onyedika Closes In on Eintracht Frankfurt Move After Agreeing Personal Terms

4 hours ago·1 min

Raphael Onyedika has agreed personal terms with Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, bringing him a significant step closer to a move to Germany, according to a report from German publication BILD.

The two clubs are now engaged in negotiations over the transfer fee, with Eintracht Frankfurt understood to be willing to pay between €8 million and €10 million to secure the Nigerian defensive midfielder's signature.

Should a deal be reached, Onyedika is expected to sign a five-year contract with the former UEFA Europa League champions — a strong indication of how highly Frankfurt rate the 24-year-old.

Frankfurt's long-running interest

Eintracht Frankfurt's pursuit of Onyedika is not new. The German club had the midfielder on their radar as far back as last summer and renewed their interest during the winter transfer window, only for a deal to fall through on both occasions.

Club Brugge's negotiating position is weakened by the fact that Onyedika's contract runs only until the summer of 2027, leaving the Belgian Pro League champions with limited leverage to demand a premium fee.

A career built across Europe

Onyedika joined Club Brugge from Danish club FC Midtylland in 2022 and has since established himself as one of the most sought-after midfielders in Belgian football. He is also a key figure for the Nigeria national team.

A move to Frankfurt would represent a significant step up for the midfielder, giving him a platform in one of Europe's most competitive leagues ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup cycle.
