Osayi-Samuel Shines as Birmingham City Beat West Brom 1-0

Nigeria's Bright Osayi-Samuel earned Man of the Match honours as Birmingham City claimed a 1-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns in Saturday's Championship fixture.
The decisive moment came in the 41st minute when August Priske converted a penalty to seal three points for Birmingham. It was Osayi-Samuel's ninth appearance in the English second division this season.
The 28-year-old Super Eagles wing-back was outstanding across the full 90 minutes, contributing six defensive actions, three clearances, and 11 ball recoveries — a display that underlined his importance to the Birmingham side.
The result lifts Birmingham to seventh place in the Championship table with 14 points from their campaign, recording a fourth away win of the season. They remain six points behind leaders Swansea City.
Tough international break for the Super Eagles
The result offered Osayi-Samuel some redemption after a difficult international window. He was among the Nigeria players who struggled as the Super Eagles suffered a 3-0 defeat away to Guinea-Bissau in a 2027 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
That loss left Nigeria in second place in their qualifying group, trailing leaders Guinea-Bissau, who have won both of their opening matches.
