Osimhen Closes In on Galatasaray's Foreign Goalscoring Record

1 hour ago·1 min

Victor Osimhen is on the verge of etching his name into Galatasaray history, closing in on the club's all-time foreign goalscoring record with another standout performance.

The Nigeria international has now netted 68 goals for the Turkish giants, placing him third among Galatasaray's top foreign scorers of all time. Mauro Icardi leads the list with 77 goals, while Romanian legend Gheorghe Hagi occupies second place with 72.

Osimhen took a significant step toward that benchmark after scoring twice in Galatasaray's 2-1 derby win over Fenerbahçe on Monday night — a result he subsequently dedicated to head coach Okan Buruk.

Blistering start to the season

The 27-year-old striker has hit the ground running this campaign, contributing nine goals and three assists across nine appearances in all competitions for Buruk's side.

At that rate, Osimhen needs only four more goals to surpass Hagi and move into second place, and nine to dethrone Icardi as the club's all-time leading foreign scorer.

With his prolific form showing no sign of slowing, Osimhen appears well-placed to rewrite the club's record books and cement a lasting legacy in Istanbul.
