Premier League Clubs Circle Nnadi as Marseille Future Remains Uncertain

11 hours ago·1 min

Several English clubs are monitoring Tochukwu Nnadi, the Olympique Marseille midfielder whose first months in France have been far from straightforward, according to a report by La Provence.

The 22-year-old arrived at Marseille from Belgian Pro League club Zulte Waregem in the January transfer window, but spent much of his initial six-month stint at the Stade Vélodrome on the fringes of the first team. Despite being afforded few opportunities, Nnadi made four consecutive starts in Marseille's final Ligue 1 fixtures of the campaign, offering a glimpse of what he is capable of.

New coach could decide his fate

With a new head coach set to be appointed at Marseille, the direction of Nnadi's career at the club hangs in the balance. Premier League sides have already made enquiries about his availability, and the incoming manager's plans could prove decisive in determining whether the midfielder stays or departs. He remains under contract with Les Phocéens until June 2030.

Super Eagles return adds to the interest

Nnadi's strong finish to the domestic season has also earned him a recall to the Nigeria Super Eagles, having previously dropped out of national team contention due to insufficient club minutes. The box-to-box midfielder featured in both of Nigeria's matches at the Unity Cup invitational tournament last week, then played a part in the Super Eagles' 2-2 draw against Poland in Warsaw on Wednesday — a run of form that is only likely to heighten English clubs' interest.
