Premier League Releases 2026-27 Festive Fixtures Ahead of Schedule

1 hour ago·2 min

The Premier League have released the fixture schedule for the festive period of the 2026-27 season more than a month ahead of when the announcement was originally planned.

Fixtures for rounds 17, 18, 19, and 20 — covering all matches between Boxing Day and Thursday, 7 January — have been confirmed. The league had initially planned to announce the full December and January schedule during the week commencing Monday, 19 October.

In a statement, the Premier League explained that the decision followed agreement with broadcast partners to bring forward the selection process for live UK matches across those rounds. The league also noted that the early release gives supporters more than three months' notice to plan travel during one of the busiest periods of the football calendar, and that the Football Supporters' Association and club Fan Advisory Board representatives were consulted before the announcement.

The remaining fixtures earlier in December and throughout November will be confirmed on their originally scheduled dates.

Boxing Day action

Seven matches are set for Boxing Day, Saturday, 26 December. Aston Villa host Leeds at 12:30, while Everton v Sunderland, Fulham v Brighton, Ipswich v Brentford, and Spurs v AFC Bournemouth all kick off at 15:00. Hull v Liverpool follows at 17:30, with Newcastle v Manchester City rounding off the day at 20:00.

On Sunday, 27 December, Coventry v Chelsea kicks off at 14:00, Manchester United v Nottingham Forest at 16:30, and Crystal Palace v Arsenal at 19:00.

New Year fixtures

The sole match on New Year's Day, Friday, 1 January, sees Leeds host Everton at 20:00.

The busy run of fixtures continues on Saturday, 2 January, with Brighton v Manchester United at 12:30, six matches at 15:00 — Arsenal v Ipswich, Brentford v Crystal Palace, Liverpool v Coventry, Nottingham Forest v Fulham, Sunderland v Hull, and AFC Bournemouth v Aston Villa at 17:30. Chelsea v Newcastle (14:00) and Manchester City v Spurs (16:30) follow on Sunday, 3 January.
